About ZoneWise
Municipalities make zoning and land use decisions every day, and those decisions have real consequences for residents and the community's future. When a city needs someone who can step into that work and move it forward, or when a law firm needs a credentialed planning professional to support a municipality or a client, that's what ZoneWise is here to do.
I've spent over 20 years working inside city halls across the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston metropolitan areas. A vast majority of that experience has been in executive leadership and management roles. I have been a party to the most complex land use situations a city can face — from contested zoning changes to infrastructure capacity conflicts to comprehensive plan overhauls.
My experience is the foundation of ZoneWise. I know how cities work from the inside: the staff dynamics, the council relationships, the code interpretation questions that don't have easy answers, and the points in a process where things go sideways. I also know how to work alongside attorneys to provide the planning analysis and operational knowledge that supports legal strategy.
I founded ZoneWise to provide zoning advisement and code interpretation, land use mediation, expert witness testimony, interim planning roles, and municipal code and process improvement. For cities that need senior-level planning capacity and for law firms that need a planning professional with deep Texas municipal roots, I offer practical support grounded in real municipal experience.
